Propeller Period Props is founded on the legacy of Abraham Theron better known as Braam. What began as a personal passion for collecting, restoring and cherishing timeless items soon caught the eye of the film industry long before South Africa became the international hub it is today, with filmmakers knocking on Braam’s door to borrow pieces that no one else could provide.

From those humble beginnings, Propeller Period Props has grown into a cornerstone of the film, television, events and entertainment industries – offering an ever expanding world of unique, magical pieces.

We realized that a 1920s rotary phone or a mid-century typewriter isn’t just an object—it’s a character. It’s the weight of the receiver, the click of the keys, and the soul it adds to a scene. Today, we operate as the secret weapon for set decorators, photographers, and creatives who know that the right prop doesn’t just fill a space—it tells a story.
